I read Darren Bell’s The Talk, and it left a lasting impression on me.

As a lifelong reader who taught elementary school and now is trying to write stories, I love books!  One of my favorite books, Lessons in Chemistry, is the debut novel by Betty Garmus. 

This morning I received an email I’ve wanted for the past few weeks. My first novel, Forgotten Voices:  Excerpts from Valentina’s Journal, can be purchased at the publisher’s website.

"Taps" is an original short story by Katy J. Smith which was submitted for consideration for the Maier Award, a presitgious national award for undergraduate creative writing students, in 2023.
